Thomas Edison
Thomas A. Edison was an inventor of many things, but his most famous creation was the light bulb. Although Edison only went to school for 12 weeks, he still became a successful inventor. Because his mother was a teacher, she taught him at home and she allowed him to experiment. As a teenager, Edison invented an improved version of a stock ticker. He continued to experiment and allow his curiosity to take over. In 1879, Edison created his most important invention, the light bulb. Many people had already tried to invent controllable light, but with Mr. Edison’s ideas and improvements, he was the first to be successful. Today, we remember Edison for his many wonderful innovations. So every time you turn on the lights, thank Mr. Edison for creating them!
