Marlena Stewart
The innovator we interviewed was Marlena Stewart. She is a financial systems engineer. Marlena Stewart was encouraged by her grandmother. She thought her grandmother was a spy, but she was actually a data processor for the federal government. She received her first computer at age 11. Her grandmother taught her to do Atari basic on the computer. Her favorite subjects were math and science; she had to go through a lot of science fairs to get where she is now. She works with technology every day in her life. Her and her team put together lots of plans if the first plan doesn’t work. When they send information to people it ends up getting stolen so that’s why they make sure they know what person the information is sent to. Marlena Stewart is the vice president of technology. She also works for Bank of America and for Merrill Lynch. She likes working with people and putting plans together. Her favorite part of her job is doing the hardest part of the job. Marlena Stewart is also a singer and a songwriter and she owns her own recording studio.
