Christopher Blackmon Christopher is one of two music teachers at Thomas Edison and the driving force behind the We Are Edison project. He has an undergraduate degree in Jazz Composition and a Master’s Degree in Teaching and Learning. He also brings over 18 years of real life experience to this endeavor, having written songs, stories and musical plays for kids that have been featured in theatrical productions from S. Korea to New Zealand to Canada to Norway, and all throughout the U.S. He also produces music for Quaver's Marvelous World of Music, an innovative online music education program that has been adopted as the primary curriculum in several states, and that is being used in our own district.

Bakari WestBakari is part of a two-man production Team that produces tracks and beats for up and coming artists around Nashville. Bakari's is also the proud father of a Thomas Edison kindergarten student.

Mike E Wright Grammy Award Winning, Legendary rap artist & Master guitarist Mike-E is a pioneer in the field of Gospel Rap. The first to win back to back Dove Awards for Rap Album of the Year. Recently honored as a founding member of Commissioned receiving the BMI Legends of Gospel Trailblazer Award. The recipient of two Stellar Awards for his radio show Mike Check.
Mike-E is the first rapper in history to perform in a Live Broadway Production and he’s appeared and performed on over 100 albums including 3 of his own – performing with the likes of Whitney Houston • Yolanda Adams • BeBe & CeCe Winans • Aretha Franklin to name a very few. Mike-E has performed on the big screen with the likes of Michael Clark Duncan and Luke Perry in Redemption Road, Country Strong with Gwyneth Paltrow, and the hit ABC Series Nashville. |
Cait and Joel Robertson Cait and Joel are from Wilmington, North Carolina and Reno, Nevada respectively. Cait is a speech pathologist and incorporates music into her therapy. Joel has a visual effects company that often makes music videos. Although they have other careers, music has always been a passion. They like to collaborate musically for fun and are very grateful that they can be a small part of what Thomas Edison Elementary is doing in the community.
